Dear Hair,
My top piece of advice would be to remain true to yourself. I know that sounds hokey, but it can be hard when you’re away from home for the first time and want to make friends.
Also, don’t go home or call (text, Skype, etc.) your parents just because you want to. One of the most important aspects of college is making friends. That can’t happen if you’re with your parents while everybody else is socializing. However, remember that your parents are still there when you really need them.
Finally, have fun (but not too much). Don’t be the kid who is drunk all the time and has to explain their grades to their parents. Don’t be the kid who gets incredible grades but is always in the library instead of making friends. It’s all about balance.
